What makes Humour Cards Funny?

🤣 we all like a good laugh but people find so many different things, subjects, situations and pictures funny.
😁 How then as greeting card publishers do we ensure we have the scientific blend correct?
😂 I thought, as we first set out to create a range of humour cards, that if I thought they were funny then everyone else would - right??
🤣🤣 Funny enough , this wasn’t exactly true. Although when I show my creations to my customers I have a very mixed result….
Some crease over crying with laughter (my kind of people!!), Some read and look at them with no emotion or reaction what so ever 😳 and some may like a few and not others.
😆 Point is - humour is a very personal thing. Although I believe most people enjoy receiving and sending humour cards on a birthday, it’s an extremely complicated process - for the buyer, for the customer and of course the recipient.
🤪 I’ve never been one to deeply think of anything too much (maybe my downfall) but I do believe in trial and error. So I keep throwing and see what sticks
🥳😉 And so I try to do things that people can relate to. I think if you can connect with people’s real life experiences you just may strike a chord…….
😌🙂 it maybe the frustrations with modern life, infuriating friends that never listen, friends that try to save money only to regret it, or even a simple play on words!
